Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture for Wrinkles

How does Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture aka Cosmetic Acupuncture help reduce fine lines.

Cosmetic Acupuncture is a non-surgical option to reduce the signs of aging. It works by using multiple acupuncture points in the face to target fine lines.  By increasing local circulation and stimulating collagen production this helps to give a more youthful appearance.

Cosmetic Acupuncture is a treatment in which we use the same holistic analysis and diagnostic method taken in Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncture. This dianostic assessment helps to establish why the concerning skin condition has arisen. As well as any additional internal complaints (ie digestive complaints, or insomnia) to take into consideration. Unlike Botox treatments that only treat fine lines, seeing a TCM Acupuncturist will also address a number of skin conditions. For conditions such as acne, eczema, dryness, age spots, there is usually an internal reason behind its presence. We take that reason into account when planning the client’s treatment strategy, as well as include dietary and lifestyle recommendations to maximize the effect.

How Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture differs from Botox

Cosmetic Acupuncture always includes a whole body treatment as well, which is another way in which this treatment is unique. Since the skin manifestation which is the focal point of the treatment is usually only the ‘tip of the iceberg’, we know that the whole body benefits from an acupuncture treatment, without which our progress will be significantly reduced.

During the treatment, super thin almost hair-like needles are inserted into the skin on the face. Additional body points are chosen based on health history, and any diagnostic findings from your Acupuncturist. No medicines or chemicals of any kind are used in cosmetic acupuncture.

How many acupuncture treatments are required to see results.

To be effective, Cosmetic Acupuncture involves time commitment. The total number of sessions can vary greatly among individuals depending on the complexity of the health picture and complexity of the fine lines. The most effective treatment plans include 2 treatments per week for the first month, after which sessions can be more spaced out. Results usually begin to be seen after 5-6 treatments.
