Emotionally Focused Therapy

Psychotherapy

What is Emotionally Focused Therapy?

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is an attachment science-based approach to individual therapy for adults. EFT works on reshaping patterns of engagement with others and the inner working model of the self. This therapeutic modality centers core emotions and meaning-making processes to target stress response patterns that often pose a challenge to having positive interpersonal and intrapersonal dynamics.

The goal of EFT is to help individuals develop stronger emotional connections with their partners or themselves, leading to more fulfilling and satisfying relationships.

Does Emotionally Focused Therapy work?

Yes, Emotionally Focused Therapy is effective in improving personal relationships. In addition to treating a wide range of mental health challenges such as:

  • depression
  • anxiety
  • post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • eating disorders

EFT is highly effective in helping individuals develop stronger emotional connections and improve their relationships. EFT helps individuals identify and express their emotions in a safe and supportive environment, while helping them to understand how their emotions impact their relationships.
