Janick was first introduced to bodywork many years ago as an actor. During her studies, she became keenly interested in movement exploration. She became certified as a yoga instructor in 2007 and taught vinyasa yoga in group settings and privately for 12 years. She was also part of the core teacher training staff at Ahimsa Yoga Centre, where she was responsible for teaching anatomy and adjustment techniques.
Through her work as an actor and yoga teacher, and also through her own yoga practice, Janick believes that the body is more than flesh, muscles and bones. The nervous system, the breath, the energetic body are all part of the whole.
Janick graduated from the Sutherland-Chan massage therapy program. As an RMT, she creates treatments that are specifically tailored to each patient’s needs and goals, ensuring that patients feel really heard and seen when they come to see her. She aims to provide a space for her patients to cultivate greater awareness of their bodies. She works with firm but gentle hands, with a keen attention to flow, using a variety of techniques including Swedish massage, myofascial release, positional release, trigger point therapy and neuromuscular techniques. Her patients can expect a massage that will be both effective and relaxing.
